# Create a New Qualys User

#### Step 1:

* Log in to the Qualys Cloud Platform using your assigned credentials.
* On the **VMDR** dashboard, select the **Users** tab. 
* Select the **New** drop-down menu, and then select **User**.

#### Step 2:

* Complete the **General Information** section as shown below. These are the required fields:
  * **First Name**: Enter **Epiphany.**
  * **Last Name**: Enter **User.**
  * **Title**: Enter **Epiphany Access.**
  * **Phone**: Enter digits.
  * **E-mail** **Address**: Enter your email address.
  * **Address** **1**: Enter your address.
  * **Country**: Select **United States of America.**
* Select **Save**.

#### Step 3:

* In the left menu, select **User Role.**
* In the **User Role** drop-down, select **Reader**. 
* Select the **API** checkbox to grant the user API access.

#### Step 4:

* Add asset groups as needed. 
* Once finished, select **Save.** The rest of the sections in the user creation process are not currently in use.

Please note that further permissions may need to be accounted for in the user creation process. A recent bug was detected in the **Reader** user role's API access.
