# Create a Claroty Read-Only User

**Step 1:**

* Log in to your Claroty Threat Defense console as an admin-level user.
* Select the three-line menu icon <img src="/files/vETffTqbCjFTNtABmsXs" alt="" data-size="line"> next to the Claroty logo to expand the left menu.\

* Select the gear icon<img src="/files/P6jg57zGKoUZeNKHnXBx" alt="" data-size="line">at the bottom left of the pop-out menu.
* From the drop-down menu, select **User Management** and then select **Users**.\

**Step 2:**

* Under the **Users,** select the <img src="/files/1LlMiD5towsZXEKqd0d1" alt="" data-size="line"> at the top of the menu to open the **NEW USER** form.\

* With the **NEW USER** form open, enter the following information:
  * **USERNAME**: Epiphany
  * **FULL NAME**: Epiphany
  * **PASSWORD**: Create a password aligned with your organization's password security policy.
* Select **Add** when complete.

**Step 3:**

* Navigate to the same **User Management** section as before, and this time, select **Groups**.\

* From the **Groups** menu, select the <img src="/files/ziyPgyU28qxznOfGeMNM" alt="" data-size="line"> at the top of the menu to open the **NEW GROUP** form.\

* With the **NEW USER** form open, enter the following information:
  * **Group Name**: Read Only - EIP
  * **Dashboard and Reports**: Read Only
  * **Visibility**: Read Only
  * **Threat Detection**: Read Only
  * **Risk and Vulnerabilities**: Read Only
  * **Investigation**: Read Only
  * **Settings**: Data Sources
  * **Users**: Add the ***Epiphany*** user.
* Select **Add** when complete.\
