# Download a Sample from the Threat Library
EVE allows the download of samples to carry out actions such as creating the own rules or reverse engineering.
To download a sample, follow the steps below:
1. From the Threat Library tab click on the name of the artifact the user want to download in the Name column or click on the icon  in the Actions column.
2. Locate the icon button  next to the artifact name. This button allows the user to download the selected sample.
3. Click on the icon and then click on the button. “Yes” to continue with the download or on the button “No“ to cancel the download.
4. After accepting the download, select the download path of the compressed file on the host.
5. Click Save and the artifact will be downloaded to the local host.
Artifacts downloaded from the EVE library are compressed into a .zip file. Unzip this folder to get the compressed sample into a new zip and a file .txt with the password.
